What a beautiful weekend!

Didn't have a wedding this weekend, so on Saturday we decided to hike on the trails at Moraine State Park with my parents. This is my favorite time of year and I really enjoyed the colorful leaves and nice weather. Having a three year old in tow slows you down a bit, but it's fun to watch her explore!

We gathered up a bunch of leaves to pretend like it was a bouquet... and then I asked her to hold it up to her face like a bride. Isn't she adorable??

Love the reflection on the water!

On Sunday I took some long overdue portraits of Ella. She loves to play supermodel.

Judy & John

It was a little chilly and rainy for Judy & John's big day, but it didn't phase them in the least, they were great! They were married at House of Prayer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aliquippa, and the reception was held at the SNPJ Club in Imperial. Below is an image of the bride and groom taken after the ceremony.

If you follow my blog, or look at the images on my website, you'll notice that I like abstract images. When I saw that the cake was on a mirror table, I was thrilled... a different angle to shoot!

I also think that this image is slightly abstract as I focused on her veil and not his face.

As a result of all this abstractedness (that is actually a real word), potential brides will sometimes ask if I shoot formals. Of course I do! They are an important part of the day, and they are especially important to parents. I just think that abstracts are more fun!

Here are the bride and groom during their first dance. When I first started shooting I didn't notice the lights on the wall, but I quickly realized how important they were to the composition.

One of my favorite parts of the day was the generations dance. Grandma and Grandpa have been married 63 years!! Judy dedicated her bouquet to them.

Janae & Jeremy

I traveled to Little Rock Arkansas to photograph Janae and Jeremy's wedding. The weather was awesome, and Janae was beautiful!!

Can't decide which version I like more of this veil shot, so I thought I'd post both.

Janae had a beautiful train length veil. I talked about long veils in this post (scroll down), I just love them!!

The groom.

The happy couple!

Congratulations guys! We had a great time!

Autumn & Chris - Engagement

We went to the University of Pittsburgh campus, and spent some time in and around Heinz Chapel, the Cathedral of Learning, and the columns at Carnegie Mellon University.

Tell me she isn't gonna make a fabulous bride!

Autumn and Chris will tie the knot on June 17, 2006.

Beth & John

Beth and John held their wedding and reception at the beautiful Springwood Conference Center. The weather wasn't as nice as we'd hoped, but it did stop raining long enough for us to get some great outdoor shots.

These two were crazy about each other! It was a lot of fun photographing them as they interacted.

I love this shot... the pumpkins, the attitude, and of course the gorgeous bride!

Took this shot just before we left, that's the atrium in the background.

My Style - Part II

Back in August, I posted a little bit about my style. I've been meaning to post more, but I've been having so much fun with weddings that I haven't had the time! Well, editing Katie and Mark's wedding has inspired me to post more. I'm editing their images as I type, and I realized that I have a thing for hands. Yes, hands. I think that they can convey emotion and be so expressive... allow me to post a few examples.

My assistant Heather (she has a hand thing as well) shot the image above, while I was shooting the image below.
Heather also shot this image while I was shooting the fourth image in my previous post.

During their first dance I saw them lean in for a kiss and outstrech their arms.

Then I decided that I should get the kiss as well, but their hands were my initial focus.

Look at the way his hands frame her waist... not only does it show the detail in her dress, and his brand new wedding band, but I think it also shows a tender moment between a new husband and wife. I am lovin' life.

Katie & Mark

I can't think of enough positive adjectives to describe how I felt about this wedding. Everything was fabulous!!! Katie and Mark held their ceremony and reception at the Beaver Valley Country Club. The weather was perfect and the bride was amazing... a true classic beauty.

This one was taken by my wonderful assistant and friend, Heather.

We went to Franciscan Manor to take some photographs and found this wonderful piece of architecture on the grounds.

From the minute I saw her dress, I was completely enthralled. But when I saw it bustled, I almost died!! It was sooooo beautiful!!!
