Becky & Jeremy

I love fall weddings, the weather is beautiful, the colors are amazing, it's just a great time of year to get married. Becky and Jeremy were wed at the St. Barbara Church in Bridgeville.

I really enjoy capturing moments like this... look at the way she's looking at her new husband.

We were having a lot of fun taking a series of shots of Becky spinning around... until we discovered these awful purple berries that had stained the bottom of her dress... yikes!!! Thankfully, Becky had a great attitude about everything.

Took this shot at the end of the evening... love the dramatic lighting.

Hard at work

As I continue to work on Amanda and Eric's images, I came across this one taken by my friend Joanne.

I always ask my assistant to take an image or two of me while I'm working so that I can include it in the proofs. After all, photojournalism means capturing the events of the day... of which I am a part of. We also sometimes play games... taking silly or unflattering shots of each other... but I won't be posting those here. :)

The Knot

I am pleased to announce that I am now advertising on The Knot!! I've been contemplating it for some time, and finally decided to just go for it. You can see my ad under Pittsburgh Wedding Photographers. I thought it would be best to use an image from my most recent wedding, so the lovely Amanda it is!

It's my birthday!!

I asked my husband to take a few pictures of me for my blog (and yes, I totally touched up my face in Photoshop)... and the first few he took were very nice...

And then when I looked at the images, I noticed this one... he says that he was trying to be photojournalistic. He's crazy!! Oh well, they're cute jeans, so I'll go for it.

My very dear friend Tammy made my cake, check out her blog when you get a chance.

We spent the evening with family and friends, and the kids had a great time in Ella's jumpy castle. We weren't able to get it out for her birthday since it rained, so it made an appearance at my party!

Amanda & Eric

Another beautiful Saturday, another beautiful bride!! I LOVE my job!! Amanda and Eric were wed at the amphitheatre at the picturesque Oglebay Resort.

Amanda is one of the most kind, genuine, caring people I have ever met. I knew immediately that she was going to be great to work with, and it was an absolute pleasure capturing her memories. Just look at her, she has sweet written all over her face!!

Took this during some last minute make-up preparations.

A tender moment after the ceremony.

I had the privilege of having the fabulous Joanne Bartone second shoot with me, she's one of the best photographers in the Pittsburgh area and I highly recommend her... not only is she very talented, but she's a lot of fun!

Laurel & Harv - The Album

I loved Laurel and Harv's wedding so much that I made a sample album, and I had great fun designing it!! And because it is a sample, I decided to do something a little different... this album is completely about Laurel and Harv and the emotions of their wedding day. You'll notice that there aren't any pictures of the guests, or the reception. I wanted this to be just about them. We were lucky enough to have time between the ceremony and reception to get some great shots at a few different locations... and that is what made this album flow so seamlessly. I wanted to clear out the clutter that sometimes comes with albums... lots of pictures of lots of people. This design was intended to be clean and simple.

Click here to view the full album design.
Click here to view images of the album itself.

It is an 11x14 burgundy album with overlapping cover and cameo. There are 10 pages (20 sides) with 51 images. This album currently sells for $825.

Below is the image that I used for the cover, I placed their rings on a "pier" that really brought together the tropical theme.

Andrea & Chris

Andrea and Chris were married at the beautiful First Baptist Church of Pittsburgh in Oakland. I second shot with my friend Andrea. For all of you brides that are unable to reserve Heinz Chapel, this is a fabulous alternative. In fact, if I were wishing to be married in the Oakland area, this church would be my first choice.

I LOVED her shoes. I've tried to wear similar styles, but they really hurt my feet! I must be getting old...

I took this in the groom's quarters at the church, I loved the dramatic lighting, and she was unaware of my presence.

This image was taken on the walkway between Heinz Chapel and the Cathedral of Learning. What a fun couple!

Raechel

As mentioned in an earlier post regarding portraits, I am 100% focused on weddings and rarely shoot seniors. But look at this young lady, how could I say no?!?! She's actually a family friend, and we had a blast shooting her pictures.

We spent the first part of the day in the studio... ya know, getting those stuffy yearbook pictures out of the way, then we hit the town. We shot on location at the University of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.

The rest of her proofs (all 225 of them!), can be seen here. Raechel is a beautiful young woman with a ton of potential, I hope she has an excellent senior year.

Pittsburgh Weddings

Look for me in the most recent issue of Pittsburgh Weddings, I was the photographer for Gary and Heidi, they are featured as one of the REAL Pittsbugh Weddings. It's been on newstands for a while, but I just picked one up today!
